Building Bridges: IISO & TOYO University KEIHOKU Senior High School Joint Exchange

On September 6th, 2025, IISO high school students had the privilege of joining a cultural exchange event with Toyo University Keihoku Senior High School. This gathering was more than just a meeting—it was a step toward building stronger ties between our students and Japanese society.
Student Presentations: Sharing Cultures and Stories
The event began with engaging presentations. Our IISO students introduced their home countries and cultures, as well as the unique mission and vision of IISO School. Keihoku Senior High School students followed with a presentation about their school life and activities. Through these exchanges, students gained mutual understanding and respect for each other’s backgrounds and educational experiences.
International Lunch: A Taste of Community
After the presentations, everyone enjoyed an international lunch prepared by the IISO community. The variety of dishes reflected the richness of cultures within our school and created a warm, welcoming atmosphere where students, teachers, and administrators could share food and conversation together.
Sports and Friendship: Table Tennis Fun
The spirit of the day continued with friendly games of table tennis, where laughter and teamwork filled the room. Sports created another opportunity for students to connect beyond language barriers, strengthening bonds of friendship in a relaxed setting.
Leadership and Support
The event was honored by the presence of the Principal and Vice Principal of Keihoku Senior High School, alongside IISO’s advisor, administrator, and homeroom teachers from both schools. Their support highlighted the importance of collaboration and the shared commitment to fostering meaningful educational and cultural exchanges.
Looking Ahead
With around 14 students from both schools participating, this exchange may have been small in size, but its impact was big. At IISO, we are dedicated to helping our students integrate more deeply with Japanese society, while also sharing their own rich cultural heritage.
This joint event with Keihoku Senior High School was a beautiful reminder that friendship and understanding grow when we open our hearts, share our stories, and learn together.
