IISO Students Join RICOCHARE 2025 at Ansys Japan

On Friday, August 22, a group of IISO high school students had the exciting opportunity to participate in the Summer Reco Challenge (RICOCHARE) 2025, hosted by Ansys Japan at their Tokyo Office.
RICOCHARE—short for “Science and Engineering Challenge”—is an initiative promoted by the Gender Equity Bureau of the Cabinet Office, Japan. Its mission is to inspire and support students in exploring future careers in science, engineering, and technology.
This year’s event brought together six students from diverse backgrounds, ranging from middle school to high school. Among them were our IISO students, who eagerly joined hands-on activities and discussions with leading engineers from Ansys.
What Our Students Experienced
The program was carefully designed to give students both inspiration and practical exposure to the world of engineering and simulation:
1. Introduction to Ansys and CAE – Students learned how multiphysics simulation and engineering software are used globally to solve real-world challenges.
2. Hands-on Simulation Experience – Students had the chance to test powerful software across Ansys business units:
• Mechanical
• Electronics
• Optics – including a VR demonstration, which our students particularly enjoyed
• New & Emerging Technologies
• Fluids
3. Round-Table Discussion – A valuable dialogue session where students engaged with Ansys employees, asking and answering questions about science, technology, and career pathways.
Why This Matters for Our Students
For our IISO students, this event was more than a workshop—it was a glimpse into the future. By directly experiencing cutting-edge technology such as VR in optics simulation, they not only gained inspiration but also strengthened their motivation to pursue science and engineering with confidence.
We are deeply grateful to Ansys Japan and the RICOCHARE initiative for welcoming our students and providing such a meaningful platform for exploration and growth.
