In April and May 2026, IISO high school students had the valuable opportunity to participate in two major university open‑campus programs in Tokyo: Temple University Japan Campus (TUJ) and Japan Sports Science University (NSSU). These visits were designed to broaden students’ academic horizons, strengthen their university readiness, and expose them to world‑class learning environments available right here in Japan.
Temple University Japan Campus – A Window into Global Education
Date: April 19, 2026
Location: Sangenjaya, Tokyo.
Our students received a warm and friendly welcome at Temple University Japan Campus, one of the fastest‑growing international universities in Japan. With more than 3,500 students from over 90 countries, TUJ offers a truly global learning environment in the heart of Tokyo.
During the open‑campus program, students explored TUJ’s modern facilities, including collaborative study rooms, seminar spaces, and student lounges. They also enjoyed a relaxed reception with snacks and refreshments, which helped them feel comfortable and engaged throughout the visit.
A highlight of the day was the inspiring message from President and Dean Matt Wilson, who encouraged students to pursue their dreams boldly and take advantage of the unique opportunities TUJ provides. His words left a strong impression on our students, motivating them to consider international pathways for their future studies.
The atmosphere on campus—diverse, energetic, and welcoming—gave students a clear picture of what it means to study in a multicultural academic community.
Japan Sports Science University – Discovering the Science Behind Human Performance
Date: May 20, 2026
Location: Tokyo
Our second university visit brought students to Japan Sports Science University (NSSU), a prestigious institution known for producing elite athletes, coaches, and sports‑science professionals.
Students attended a 1.5‑hour admissions and academic guidance session, where they learned about:
Entrance exam requirements
Key study strategies
Important terminology for the application process
Academic expectations for sports‑science majors
Following the session, students toured the campus and observed several athletic clubs in action, including:
Soccer
American Football
Rugby
Track & Field
They also visited the outdoor track facility, where athletes were actively training. This firsthand exposure helped students understand the discipline, environment, and academic rigor required to pursue sports‑science education at a high level.
For many of our student athletes, this visit was especially meaningful, offering a clear vision of how academic study and athletic development can work together.
Educational Impact: Building Confidence and Future Readiness
The visit of IISO students to Temple University & Japan Sports Science University plays an important role in IISO’s mission to prepare students for global futures. Through these experiences, students:
Gain early exposure to university life in Tokyo
Understand diverse academic pathways—international, sports‑science, and beyond
Learn directly from university faculty and students
Build motivation and clarity for their future goals
Experience real‑world environments that shape their aspirations
Both TUJ and NSSU provided our students with valuable insights that will support their academic planning and personal growth.
Tokyo as a Hub for Global and Specialized Education
Tokyo continues to strengthen its position as a center for international higher education. Institutions like Temple University Japan Campus and Japan Sports Science University offer:
English‑medium degree programs
Multicultural student communities
