The 24th All Japan Annual Qur'an Competition

In the light of the profound guidance from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who declared, "The best amongst you is the one who learns the Qur'an and teaches it," Japan Islamic Trust (Nihon Islam Bunka Center - Otsuka Masjid) is thrilled to unveil the upcoming 24th All Japan Annual Quran Competition, set to take place on December 30th and 31st, 2023.

The preliminary qualification round for the competition will be held online. The top 10 contestants from each level will be selected based on their performance in the preliminary round and will get to participate in the final round, which will be held offline at Tokyo Camii. 

 

For those candidates who are selected and in need of travel support from outside the Kanto area, travel support is available to participate in the final round at Tokyo Camii. Please note that the final round will only be conducted at Tokyo Camii and there will be no online facility available. 

 

The application deadline is December 10, 2023, at 11:00 a.m.

Qur'an Competition

Children categories 

Up to 15 years old/junior-high school students

Level 0: Those who have memorized more than one Surah of the Quran (not a competition, but oral recitation only)
Level 1: Those who have memorized more than half a Juz of the Qur'an
Level 2: Those who have memorized more than 1 juz of the Qur'an
Level 3: Those who have memorized more than 2 juz of the Qur'an
Level 4: Those who have memorized more than 5 juz of the Qur'an
Level 5: Those who have memorized more than 10 juz of the Qur'an
Level 6: Those who have memorized more than 15 juz of the Qur'an
Level 7: Those who have memorized the entire Qur'an

Adults Competition
16 years old and above

Level 07: Those who have memorized the entire Qur'an
Level 08: Those who have learned Tajweed and can read the Qur'an correctly

Students Memorize the Quran
