The 24th All Japan Annual Quran Competition（第24回全日本クルアーンコンテスト）

Dear Community Members,

Exciting news! Get ready to embark on a spiritual journey as we announce the 24th All Japan Annual Quran Competition, scheduled for December 30th and 31st, 2023. Inspired by the profound words of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), "The best amongst you is the one who learns the Qur'an and teaches it," this event is your gateway to excellence.

Important Dates:

• Competition Dates: December 30th & 31st, 2023.
• Registration Deadline: December 10th, 2023.
• Preliminary Qualification: December 17th, 2023 (Online by ZOOM)
• Final Round: December 30th & 31st, 2023 (Offline at Tokyo Camii)

How It Works:

The competition kicks off with an online preliminary qualification round, where participants can showcase their knowledge of the Quran. The top 10 contestants from each level will then be selected to participate in the final round at the prestigious Tokyo Camii.

Travel Support:

We understand the significance of your presence. For selected candidates residing outside the Kanto area, travel support is available to help you join the final round at Tokyo Camii. Please note that the final round is exclusively an offline event.

Application Deadline:

Make sure to register by December 10, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. to be part of this enriching experience.

Categories and Levels: 

The Qur'an Competition will be divided into the following two categories and levels.

Children's Category 

(up to 15 years old/junior high school students)

*Level 0: Those who have memorized more than one Surah of the Quran (not a competition, but oral recitation only)

*Level 1: Those who have memorized more than half a Juz of the Qur'an

*Level 2: Those who have memorized more than 1 juz of the Qur'an

*Level 3: Those who have memorized more than 2 juz of the Qur'an

*Level 4: Those who have memorized more than 5 juz of the Qur'an

*Level 5: Those who have memorized more than 10 juz of the Qur'an

*Level 6: Those who have memorized more than 15 juz of the Qur'an

*Level 7: Those who have memorized the entire Qur'an

Adults’ Category 

(16 years old and above) 

*Level 7: Those who have memorized the entire Qur'an

*Level 8: Those who have learned tajweed and can read the Quran correctly

Schedule:

1- December 17 (Sun) Online via ZOOM; 

Preliminary Qualification Round: Children’s Category (Levels 1-7) and Adults’ Category (Levels 7 and 8)

Qualification Rounds will be held if there are 10 or more contestants in each level.

2- December 30 ( Sat ) at Tokyo Camii

Recitation: Children’s Category Level 0

3- December 31 (Sun) Tokyo Camii

Final Round: Children’s Category(Level 1-7) and Adults’ Category (Level 7 and 8) 

Please note the following:

※ If you do not apply by the deadline, you will not be able to participate. Please note that no applications will be accepted after December 10, 2023, 11:00 a.m.

※ Overseas residents are not eligible to apply.  

※ In children category, 15 years old and junior high school students who live in Japan are eligible to participate. 

※ In adults category, only Japanese nationals or foreigners with a valid residence permit are allowed to participate.  

※ The contestant may only compete in one level, and may not compete in two levels.  

※ If you have already won a prize in this competition before, you may not compete again in the same level.

※Level 0 is not a competition but an oral recitation.  

※ 1st Place winner of Level 7 Children's Category will receive an Umrah ticket, and the 2nd place winner will receive an Airline ticket to Turkey.  

※ The winner of Level 7 Adults' Category will receive an Umrah ticket.  

※ The prizes (Airlines Tickets) offered are for one person only (the winner him/herself), not for parents or family members. Please note that we will not be involved in any visa or other formalities.  

※ Level 8 (adults only) will not be a memorization test, but a recitation from the Qur'an of the verses specified by the judges.
